Enhancing HIV Patient Care with Columbia University’s Northeast/Caribbean AIDS Education and Training Center
Background: Columbia University’s Northeast/Caribbean AIDS Education and Training Center (NECA AETC) stands as a beacon of support and education for healthcare specialists across New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. The center is dedicated to bridging gaps in HIV patient care by providing comprehensive training programs and capacity-building assistance to healthcare professionals.
Project Scope: In collaboration with NECA AETC, Office Interactive undertook the task of enhancing the center’s online platform to streamline access to vital resources and foster knowledge exchange among healthcare specialists. The primary objective was to integrate intuitive modules that would not only deliver essential content but also facilitate capacity building within the healthcare community.
Key Features Developed:
Interactive Mapping: Office Interactive implemented dynamic maps showcasing the geographical distribution of key stakeholders across the United States and the Caribbean. This feature enables stakeholders to visualize their network and identify areas for collaborative opportunities effectively.
Custom Calendar System: A user-friendly calendar system was developed, empowering administrators to seamlessly upload and manage information regarding upcoming events, workshops, and training sessions. This centralized hub enhances communication and ensures timely dissemination of essential updates to healthcare professionals.
Business Analysis and Prototyping: Through meticulous business analysis and interactive prototyping, Office Interactive tailored the platform to address the specific needs of NECA AETC. This iterative approach allowed for the refinement of features and functionalities to align perfectly with the center’s objectives.
UI/UX Design: Leveraging best practices in user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design, the platform underwent a transformation to optimize accessibility and usability. The intuitive design enhances user engagement and ensures seamless navigation throughout the site.
Global User and Content Management: A robust global user management system was implemented to streamline user access and permissions across regions. Additionally, a comprehensive content management system (CMS) empowers administrators to curate and update content effortlessly, ensuring relevance and accuracy at all times.
Custom Front-end Features: Office Interactive introduced a suite of custom front-end features, including dynamic news feeds, interactive web forms, and more. These features enrich the user experience and facilitate efficient knowledge sharing among healthcare specialists.
Human and Machine Testing: Rigorous human and machine testing processes were conducted to validate the functionality, performance, and security of the platform. This meticulous testing phase ensured a seamless user experience and upheld the highest standards of data integrity and privacy.
